Product Introduction
potassium nitrate (KNO3), also called saltpetre or nitre, an ionic white crystalline salt made up of potassium ions and nitrate ions. Uses of potassium nitrate include the manufacture of fertilizers, pesticides, glass, fireworks, explosives, and rocket fuels. It is also used as a food preservative, and when added to meat it causes a reaction between the myoglobin and hemoglobin in the blood, making the meat appear red in colour. It is also used as an
additive in some toothpastes to help with tooth sensitivity.
Potassium nitrate is toxic to humans in high levels, so its use is
carefully controlled when human consumption is involved.
Potassium nitrate is an inorganic substance, commonly known as fire
nitrate or soil nitrate, and KNO3 refers to the nitrate of
potassium. It is colorless transparent orthorhombic crystal or
rhombic crystal or white powder, odorless, non-toxic, salty and
cool.
Potassium nitrate is a chlorine free nitrogen potassium compound
fertilizer with high solubility. Its effective components nitrogen
and potassium can be quickly absorbed by crops without chemical
residues. As fertilizer, it should be applied to vegetables, fruits
and flowers, and some chlorine sensitive crops (such as potatoes,

Health Hazard
inhalation of this product dust is irritating to the respiratory
tract, and inhalation of high concentration can cause pulmonary
edema. Large amount of contact can cause methemoglobinemia, affect
blood oxygen carrying capacity, and cause headache, dizziness,
cyanosis, nausea and vomiting. Severe cases may cause respiratory
disorder, collapse, or even death. Oral administration may cause
severe abdominal pain, vomiting, bloody stool, shock, generalized
convulsions, coma, and even death. It is strongly irritating to
skin and eyes, even causing burns. Repeated skin contact may cause
skin dryness, chaps and rashes
Product Application
1. Agricultural potassium nitrate fertilizer is a pure plant
nutrient, which is completely soluble in water without residual
harmful substances. The nitrate nitrogen and potassium contained in
it are a large number of elements necessary for crop growth. They
have a good coordination effect, and can promote each other to be
absorbed by crops and promote the absorption of other nutrient
elements.
2. Industrial grade potassium nitrate is mainly used for heat
conduction molten salt in fine chemical industry and organic
chemical industry. It is also used as catalyst and beneficiation
agent. Industrial grade potassium nitrate can also be used to
manufacture fireworks, black powder, tobacco, chemical reagents,
catalysts, ceramic glaze, glass and compound fertilizer. In

metallurgical industry.
3. Photoelectric grade potassium nitrate is mainly used for
chemical strengthening of high-end glass. The viscosity of
potassium glass is greater than that of sodium glass, which can
reduce the crystallization tendency of glass and increase the
transparency and gloss of glass. Potassium nitrate can be used as a
good hardening material for tempered glass to enhance hardness and
increase the ability to resist falling.
